General information about integrations with brokers through API
General information about integrations with brokers.
It is necessary to complete the training with the Rently team to understand all the points developed here and make successful integrations with brokers.
Everything detailed in this file is very necessary and important, and everything mentioned has to be 100% clear, correctly configured and finalized before presenting to brokers. In case there is incorrect information when going live with a broker and, as a consequence, an incorrect booking is entered, the booking must always be respected regardless of whether it is a fleet error, rate error, opening dates or times, etc. Whenever a broker booking is entered, it must be respected, and the way to avoid inconsistencies is to be really attentive to the points developed here.
After uploading all of your information into Rently, the integrations team has to link this information in the system with the information in the API. The API is where the brokers ultimately get the information from. This linkage is called “mapping”. An initial mapping is done and then every time there are changes or additions in Rently, data has to be updated or added in the API. Therefore, when you add or change things in Rently, you must notify the integrations team so that those changes or additions are displayed in the API. For example, if you add a new branch, but do not notify integrations, it is impossible for brokers to have that branch active, despite having the branch in Rently.
In short, you are responsible for the upload and maintenance of the information you have in Rently and giving notice of changes or additions to the integrations team, and the integrations team is responsible for linking that in the API, since you will not have access to it.
The contact email account for integrations is integrations@rentlysoft.com
We recommend always using this account so that in case a particular person is absent, someone else can assist you in their place in the same way.
This is a summary of the different stages of the integration process.
- Upload of information in Rently by the rental company.
- Review of the information loaded in Rently by the integrations team.
- Mapping of the information in the API by the integrations team.
- The integrations team will introduce you to some brokers, so that negotiations can begin. Then you must present your company and continue the contact. You should continue the chain until you sign a contract with the broker. If you already have a contact, you should include us in a chain with the contact you have.
- Once you sign a contract, you should let us know in the same chain preferably, so that the integrations team can start the technical exchange with the broker.
- The integrations team will share credentials and documentation with the broker. They will ask the broker whatever is necessary to set up the commercial agreements.
- The broker will provide us with the information for commercial agreements and the integrations team will configure them together with the rental company.
- The broker sometimes may ask for the information in a specific format. We will help you to complete anything to avoid confusion.
- When the broker has availability, they will share with us tests and share information about them. If the integrations team for some reason is not copied on those emails, you should add us.
- The integrations team will provide feedback to the brokers regarding those the tests, requesting information from you if necessary and confirmations from your side regarding terms and conditions not configurable in Rently.
- When the test bookings are perfect, we will give approval to the broker. After that, it depends on the broker to set you live on their platform.
- Once published, you must inform us when you modify or add information to Rently to repeat step 2 and 3 and be able to inform the broker about the changes in the API.
